As the years passed I relegated my passion for art to a “hobby”
and went on to receive my Honours Bachelor of Science with
High Distinction. I then happily worked as a therapist with
children with autism.
It was only when I had the good fortune to stumble across a cake
decorating book, that I finally understood the way in which
I am supposed to use my creative talents. I took a course
at the Bonnie Gordon School of Cake Decorating and Design,
and I haven’t looked back since. Bonnie has been a true mentor
to me and I am so thankful for all her encouragement and knowledge.
Now everything has come full circle as I am now an instructor
at her school..
Cake design involves all the things
that I am truly passionate about. In particular, the creative
process and fine hand work involved in designing and creating
a cake, the chance to make something really beautiful from
scratch and the joy that comes from meeting with clients and
providing them with something that adds to the happiness of
such special events in their lives.
